Individual made a commitment (intention) to taking action (behavioral criteria) at some point in the next month. They may have unsuccessfully taken action at some point in the previous year and are ready to do so again. Individuals may still have some ambivalence. Some individuals may have already made slight behavior changes. Those who spend time preparing and planning for their change are better equipped when temptation occurs.
