Discuss how the initiation of DNA synthesis occurs in bacteria using the terms origin of replication, replication fork, and theta structures

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: The initiation protein DnaA binds to the origin of replication (oriC gene) where DnaB and DnaC proteins help unwind the DNA. This unwound and accessible region of DNA, called the replication fork, is where DNA synthesis occurs. Theta structures are used to describe the appearance of the DNA replication during bidirectional circular DNA replication.
