Suppose you are managing a company that provides digital archival record-keeping services to midsized companies and institutions. How might the two basic types of healthy corporate cultures become valuable to good strategy execution? How would you know if your company has one or the other type of healthy corporate culture?

What will be an ideal response?

There are two basic types of healthy cultures: high performance cultures and adaptive cultures. In high-performance cultures, a strong sense of involvement on the part of company personnel and an emphasis on individual initiative and effort aid superior strategy execution. You would know whether or not the performance expectations are clearly delineated for the company as a whole, for each organizational unit, and for each individual. Issues and challenges facing your company would  promptly be addressed; everyone would maintain a razor-sharp focus on what needs to be done. Adaptive corporate cultures are characterized by a willingness on the part of organization members to accept change and take on the challenge of introducing and executing new strategies. In your company, personnel would share a feeling of confidence that the organization can deal with whatever threats and opportunities arise; they would be receptive to risk taking, experimentation, innovation, and changing strategies and practices.
