Benchmarking will point out areas where improvements are needed. Benchmarking can be used to determine whether or not a company's quality systems are able to fulfill the requirements appropriate to meet ISO 9000 or quality award standards. Benchmarking can also answer such questions as: Are the company's processes properly constructed and documented? Are systems in place to allocate resources and funding appropriately? Which areas have the greatest improvement needs? What are our internal and external customer needs?
