What is the difference between specular reflection and diffuse reflection?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: In specular reflection, light is reflected back as a beam of equal intensity. If a beam is reflected from an object as a larger number of weaker rays traveling in many different directions, then diffuse reflection occurs.
