Ans: New class composed of industrialists who owned the means of production. Wage laborers who did not own land, property, or tools, only their labor. Demanding, hazardous conditions, long hours, exploitation wages. Marx and Engels posited that two classes, bourgeoisie and proletariat, would come into conflict. Capitalists paid workers minimum possible and kept remainder as profit, appropriated the surplus value of workers’ labor. Exploitation would end in revolution and end of private ownership.
