Suppose a company network has only Windows XP machines. What are the advantages of allowing both NTLM and Kerberos authentication? What are the disadvantages?

What will be an ideal response?

If the network permits NTLM authentication, it would be possible to add Windows
NT 4.0 machines to the network; this could be useful for visiting consultants. The disadvantage
is that all Windows XP machines would authenticate with the Kerberos server; unless
Windows NT 4.0 machines were added to the network; NTLM would only take up space and
processor cycles on the domain controller.
