Discuss the current state of CDRs and what is done with the data. What have been the outcomes?

What will be an ideal response?

CDR teams have taken an array of actions in terms of prevention of child injury and promotion of child safety. The reports from the National Child Death Review Case Reporting System showed that most deaths are probably or definitely preventable. Data from the CDR-CRS found that 30% were preventable. They made recommendations in 18,603 deaths reviewed for a total of 89,040 recommendations. CDR has gone beyond reviews of just child abuse and neglect, and looked at other preventable causes and made recommendations accordingly. In addition to prevention programs, CDR can be highly effective in improving policies and practices, and finding breakdowns in systems and fixing them without shaming.
