At some point, the equipment runs under normal operating conditions and
someone keeps careful records of part failures. Each time something breaks,
wears out, loosens up, or ceases to function properly, it is recorded somewhere.
Over the weeks, months, and years this creates a pool of data that we can analyze
for trends or patterns of failure.
