Describe the problem of resource loss through deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and desertification. What factors are contributing to each, and what dangers do they pose?

Please provide the best answer for the statement.

1. Deforestation describes the global loss of forests. Forests are being destroyed at a rate of about an acre per second. The main factor contributing to deforestation is the destruction of forests for agricultural land and development. Some of the dangers of deforestation include the loss of carbon sequestration, smoke from burning that contributes to climate change, loss of topsoil, and loss of biodiversity through habitat destruction.
2. Biodiversity refers to the diversity of life in the world or in a particular habitat. It is difficult to quantify the danger of lost biodiversity because we do not know what benefits we are losing. Deforestation is a major contributor to the loss of biodiversity.
3. Desertification is the process by which fertile land becomes desert, usually as a result of deforestation, drought, or indiscriminate human use for agriculture, such as intensive farming, overgrazing, or repeated burning. Combined with increasing water use, desertification is contributing to a worldwide shortage of groundwater.
