Explain the importance of scientific evidence in criminal trials

What will be an ideal response?

Scientific evidence makes it possible to determine facts that might not otherwise be available or corroborate facts that have already been discovered. In cases where there are eye witnesses to the crime, scientific evidence helps investigators determine of the witnesses are reliable and also can be used to corroborate their testimony at trial. Testing of evidence found at the scene can identify there perpetrator even though no eye witnesses were present when the crime was committed. Scientific evidence can also be used exonerate suspects who have been wrongly accused.
