How are electrolyte and fluid balance maintained?

What will be an ideal response?

The sodium-potassium pump maintains electrolyte and fluid balance inside and outside of cells. It is a protein located in the cell membrane that actively transports sodium ions out of the cell and potassium ions into the cell. The pump is an active transport system in which an enzyme called Na+-K+ATPase acts as the carrier molecule to "pump" sodium ions out of, and potassium ions into, the ICF.
