Discuss the advantages of qualitative research.

What will be an ideal response?

One advantage is that the researcher can gain a more detailed understanding of the
phenomena of interest than with quantitative research. Second, qualitative research is helpful in
understanding or explaining unusual situations that could not be identified through large-scale
quantitative methods. A third advantage is that the researcher can adjust data-collection
procedures during the process, based on the issues that arise.
