The new language of service coordination and service coordinator also encapsulated broader categories of the services provided to children and families. For example, a service coordinator was redefined to include any qualified professional who was best able to assist the family. They also served as advocates who coordinated a broad realm of services to children and their families. Thus, this new name better fits all the required responsibilities of service providers.
