List and discuss the components included in the definition of human communication

What will be an ideal response?

Communication is about making sense, sharing sense, creating meaning, using verbal
and nonverbal messages, and being other oriented. In making sense, we use our senses
to identify patterns in what we experience and share this understanding with others by
using words, art, music, clothing, or other means. Rather than just sending and
receiving messages, we create meaning together as communicating partners based on
our own experiences, characteristics of the message, the situation, and our own
perceptions and backgrounds. We may use symbols such as words to convey our
messages but we also rely on gestures, posture, vocal expressions, tone of voice,
clothing, and artifacts to express feelings and attitudes, power, and interest. To be
effective communication must also acknowledge the perspective and needs of others
(being other oriented).
