List and define the four benefits of telework
What will be an ideal response?
Telework can aid in the work-family balance in four ways. First, it can provide
flexibility with regard to time and location of work making it possible for the employee to attend
to family needs during the typical work day if necessary. Second, telework affords control over
both family and work schedules and responsibilities such that the employee does not have to feel
overly-constrained by a traditional work schedule/location. Third, dependent care, whether it be
for children, a spouse, significant other, or family member, can be more easily maintained as the
employee can work from home or while traveling. Finally, relationships at home can be attended
to throughout the day leading to increased interaction with family members.
