Thomas Jefferson observed that "A little rebellion now and then is a good thing....The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants
" Whereas the United States has never had an armed revolution, was Jefferson incorrect about his observation during that time period?
What will be an ideal response
Jefferson probably could not predict the rising middle class in the U.S., nor the fluid application of the Constitution. The process of amending the Constitution has helped maintain the same form of government as well as the ability of society to change. The "blood of patriots and tyrants" may not necessarily refer to only American interests. It may refer to U.S. patriots who fought wars throughout our history to preserve freedoms for not only this country, but for people from all parts of the world. The tyrants were the people these brave Americans fought, such as Adolph Hitler.
