Describe the structure of the federal court system. How does the federal court system compare/contrast with the state court system of the state where you are living?

The federal court system consists of the U.S. District Courts, which are the federal trial courts, the U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court, which is the highest tribunal in the United States. Other federal courts include the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, the Tax Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Most state court systems consist of general jurisdiction trial courts, appellate courts, and a state supreme court. Most states also have specialized courts to handle matters such as workers' compensation, probate, divorce, and taxes.
