What is selective perception? What can be a result of selective perception?
What will be an ideal response?
Varies. Selective perception is the tendency to see only what one expects to see. It can reinforce and strengthen stereotypes to the point that the highly prejudiced individual simply does not accept evidence that challenges his or her views. These overgeneralizations can become closed perceptual systems that screen out contrary information and absorb only sensory impressions that ratify the original bias.
