For a client, why is it important that their information remains confidential?

What will be an ideal response?

For a client, it is important that their information remains confidential because, the client needs to feel secure that the information they give their lawyer “will remain confidential,” and there may be sensitive material disclosed and if it is released to the public then it could have consequences to the case or client. The lawyer must also have all relevant information from the client and if they are not comfortable telling their lawyer everything then there could be important information that is left out. It is also the ethical obligation of a lawyer to keep all information about their client confidential as any and all information disclosed could be related to the representation as time goes on.
