Why doesn't the disturbance known as a midlatitude cyclone develop in the tropics?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: The midlatitude cyclone is forced begin by the polar front jet stream which is not over the tropics. Moreover, the surface expression of the midlatitude cyclone is a mixture of contrasting polar and tropical air masses and this does not occur in the tropics.
