Discuss one weakness of action research.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Answer would ideally include one of the following: According to the text, “There are no real limitations to action research, per se.” While there are people who consider action research to be of lower quality than more traditional types of research, a strong counterargument is that action research is actually stronger because it is so very tailored and specific to the setting and phenomena under study. The text also reminds us that the entire purpose of action research is “to solve local-level problems, not to generalize to larger populations.” Another pertinent point in the text is that action research studies should be evaluated with criteria that differ from those for other methods of research. In essence, action research studies are entirely unique and therefore cannot be categorized according to the same classifications as other research styles.
