How did Eugenics shape 20th-century crime policy?
What will be an ideal response?
One of the biggest examples of eugenics shaping 20th-century policy is the testing H. H. Goddard did on immigrants at Ellis Island. He would give IQ tests to immigrants and those that were deemed feebleminded were deported. Sterilization was also used in the United States based on scores of intelligence tests. Women were especially targeted because of Goddard’s beliefs that feeblemindedness was passed from one generation to the next. This sterilization based on intelligence continued until the 1970s.
