Describe Levy’s strategies for how to remember every name, every time.

What will be an ideal response?

Examples should include the FACE method: Levy suggests the FACE method for
remembering names. FACE stands for “focus, ask, comment, and employ.” Focus: Lock in on the person’s face. Lean forward and turn your head slightly to one side. Ask:
Inquire about his or her name. Ask or clarify that you heard the name correctly.
Comment: Say something about the name, and cross-reference it in your head. Employ:
Put the name to use right away. Once you master the FACE technique, you can learn
the NAME technique. NAME stands for “nominate, articulate, morph, and entwine.”
Nominate: Pick a feature of the person’s face, and then nominate it as the feature you
will use to link the name to the face. Try to focus on the eyes, nose, lips, ears, chin, or
eyebrows. Articulate: Silently make a note to yourself of what is unique about the
feature you have nominated. Morph: Change the name into another work you can
remember, but make sure it retains an element of the original name. Entwine: You
nominated a physical characteristic of a person you just met. Then you articulated a
mental description of the person. Third, you morphed the name into a sound-alike word.
Try to create as vivid an image as you can.
