Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a group of inherited disorders resulting in gene mutations that can cause problems with collagen structure or production. Determine the impact, if any, this disorder will have on stability in synovial joints

What will be an ideal response?

Both tendons and ligaments provide stability and support for synovial joints. Both tendons and ligaments are made of dense regular collagenous connective tissue, formed from collagen fibers. For a person with collagen problems, such as from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, the formation of tendons and ligaments can be compromised. Without strong tendons and ligaments to stabilize and support the synovial joints, a person can experience decreased stability and increased mobility or flexibility.
