What is NPPS? What possible outcome(s) may result with the addition of NPPS to the NGI?
What will be an ideal response?
NPPS is the National Palm Print System and contains a database of millions of palm prints to be used in criminal investigations and processes. NPPS was previously unavailable to law enforcement and provided a major problem as many prints left at crime scenes are the offender’s palm impression. With the addition of the NPPS and Tenprint system, many more prospective crimes will be solvable in the coming years.
