Discuss biologists’ definition of “species.” What does this definition imply? Give an example

of a species and discuss binomial species names. What will be an ideal response?

The term “species” is a biologic term for a population of similar individuals that in nature
interbreed and produce fertile offspring. A species is reproductively isolated from other species.
If two related species interbreed, the result commonly is a sterile offspring. An example of a
binomial species name is Homo sapiens
