Describe the Flynn effect and at least two possible explanations for it

What will be an ideal response?

The Flynn effect is the tendency for people born in more recent decades to get higher raw scores on IQ tests than did their parents or grandparents. Because of this effect, IQ test writers restandardize tests and their scoring norms to make the tests harder. One possible explanation is improvements in health and nutrition. Another is the progressive increase in cognitive stimulation from television, computers, and other technology. A speculative possibility is increased exposure to artificial lights. Other possibilities include improvements in education, an increased tendency for people to mate with people who differ from them genetically, and medical advances that decrease the prevalence of mental retardation.
