What will be an ideal response?
ANSWER: Torpor is a sleeplike state where metabolic, nervous and physical activity are reduced

in daily temperature. Some animals enter into seasonal torpor, often triggered by day
length. Extended torpor during winter is called hibernation. Torpor to avoid high
temperatures or water scarcity is called estivation.
