Using the above pictured chart, explain which country would gain the most from adopting a debt-for-nature swap?

What will be an ideal response

Country C has the largest percentage rate of annual tropical forest loss at 27% per year. At this rate, it will take less than four years all of the tropical rainforests in this country to disappear.

This country also has a very small amount of tropical forest at 22,000 square kilometers. A debt-for-nature swap would help to stabilize this loss and keep tropical rainforests as a viable ecosystem within this nation. Additionally, foreign aid or debt relief will come into the country in return for their efforts to save their forests.
