What are two principles of a holistic approach in qualitative research? Explain what each principle means.
What will be an ideal response?
First, there is no single reality in nature; hence, reality changes. The focus of qualitative research, then, is not on behavior itself, but specifically on people's perceptions and interpretations of their experiences. Second, behavior does not occur independent of context; hence, behavior is dynamic. Thus, behavior operates differently in different contexts, so an analysis of behavior outside of the particular context in which it occurs will be incomplete.
