The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has the authority to create new TLDs. Since 2001, they have added many TLDs, such as .biz for businesses, .info for informational sites, and .pro for accountants, engineers, lawyers, and physicians in several Western countries.
