Briefly discuss how the Internet and popular music have encroached into Russian culture since the late 1990s. Have these changes been received equally well by all of the Russian people? If not, who is more resistant to change, and why?

What will be an ideal response?

During the Soviet era, the USSR government was able to restrict access to outside cultural influences. As technology changed, especially the changes of the 1980s, it became harder to restrict access. With the demise of the USSR, access to information became much easier. In general, Russian people have embraced these global influences, especially in urban areas. Rural peoples have been more likely to maintain traditional cultural influences.
