Explain constraint-induced movement therapy.
What will be an ideal response?
Constraint-induced movement therapy is usually prescribed for individuals who have suffered a cerebrovascular accident in which one arm is more difficult to use. In this case, patients have their unaffected arm restrained such that they are forced to make us of the affected arm. When prompted to use the affected limb, patients regain some ability to use it rather than using only the unaffected arm and neglecting use of the affected one.
