Describe components of effective teaching and discuss how they relate to effective multicultural education
What will be an ideal response?
Students should describe scaffolding and strategies, challenge, involvement, success, mediation and feedback, and responsiveness to cultural and individual diversity. They will note that these elements are relevant to effective teaching for all students, and that practices must consistently show sensitivity to each student's cultural heritage, sense of self, view of the world, and acquired knowledge and skills. Teaching about cultures, individual differences, and the construction of knowledge should be completely interwoven into the curriculum as issues of cultural and individual diversity cannot be adequately considered in a few special lessons.
