Explain how Rule #1 affects the circularity deviation of surface elements.
What will be an ideal response?
ANS:
Wherever Rule #1 applies to a regular feature of size (with an axis or spine), it restricts the circularity deviation on each circular element of the surface. This is a result of the relationship between Rule #1 (perfect form at MMC) and the size dimension. When the feature of size is at MMC, all circular elements of the surface must be perfectly circular. As the size dimension departs from MMC, a circularity deviation equal to the amount of departure is permitted. The maximum circularity deviation occurs where the feature of size is at LMC. The maximum circularity deviation may not be larger than the size tolerance.

A generator bus (with a 1.0 per unit voltage) supplies a 150 MW, 50 Mvar load through a lossless transmission line with per unit (100 MVA base) impedance of j0.1 and no line charging. Starting with an initial voltage guess of 1.0? 30°, determine the first iteration value of the load bus voltage (magnitude and angle) using the Newton-Raphson power flow method.
