Why should cassettes and intensifying screens be examined prior to use?

What will be an ideal response?

To check the hinges and snaps of the cassette for light tightness. Check rigid cassettes for warping. Check for cleanliness and scratches of the intensifying screens. If cassettes are warped, there will not be close screen-film contact and images will be blurry. Debris on screens results in radiopaque artifacts. Scratched screens will not produce the light needed to expose the films.
