Differentiate the functions of Broca’s area and Wernicke’s area. Describe resulting cognitive deficits due to damage in those areas

Please provide the best answer for the statement.

Broca’s area is located in the left frontal lobe and is associated with production of speech, or the ability to articulate language. Wernicke’s area is located in the left temporal lobe and is associated with language comprehension. Individuals with damage to Broca’s area may be able to understand a conversation, but when they try to speak, their response may be slow, difficult, and slurred. However, individuals with damage to Wernicke’s area have a difficult time comprehending language. Interestingly, they are often able to speak but their speech makes little sense and is referred to as “word salad.”
