During the trial, the prosecutor and defense have four possible sources of evidence. Name and discuss each type

The parties gain evidence from witnesses through examination. Exhibits are the next principal form of evidence in a trial. The four types of exhibits are real objects (guns, blood), items used for demonstration (diagrams, models, maps), writings (counterfeit checks, letters), and records (private business, phone, public records). Before an exhibit may be admitted as evidence in a trial, a foundation for its admissibility must be laid out. A stipulation is an agreement between the parties that certain facts exist and are not in dispute. For example, a defendant is arrested for possession of cocaine. The crime lab that tests the drug for its content may have to testify to the findings. Attorneys normally stipulate to the findings or the background of the crime lab chemist. Another common stipulation is done with expert witnesses. Attorneys may stipulate to the witnesses' credibility rather than make them spend time discussing credentials. Judicial notice is the fourth method of offering evidence. If the judge takes judicial notice of a fact, the fact is assumed true and admitted as evidence. Judges take judicial notice of facts commonly known in the jurisdiction where the trial is held and that are easily determined and verified from a reliable source.
