Define glucagon

What will be an ideal response?

If a patient experiencing hypoglycemia is unconscious, the person should be treated with an injection of glucagon, rather than with a sugar source taken by mouth. Glucagon is a hormone produced in the pancreas that raises blood sugar. It achieves this effect by changing the sugar stored in the liver into a source of sugar that can be used by the body.
