Why should not clients simply keep the fourth step to themselves? What is the purpose in sharing this with someone else?
What will be an ideal response?
The purpose of Step 4 is to make things right with self, others, and God. Addicts are often their own worst critics and may think, “If someone really knew me, they wouldn't like me.” The process of sharing Step 4 with another enables them to break through this fear and prove this belief wrong.
