Briefly explain the concept of angels and spirits in Islam.

What will be an ideal response?

God created angels and spirits to serve Gods and the human beings were created later. Muhammad received the Qur'an through the archangel Gabriel. Islam recognizes three other archangels and a large company of ordinary angels. As in Judaism and Christianity, angels are the messengers carrying divine revelations to humans. There are also many Jinn, "spirits." In the Qur'an, they say about themselves, "Some of us are Muslims and some are wrongdoers" (72:14). Evil jinn are led by the devil, a spirit who rebelled against God when humans were created. Muslims must be on guard against the jinn, because they can cause not only physical but spiritual harm, by luring believers away from Allah.
