Explain why it is important to use natural and familiar language when developing questionnaires.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans:
Natural and familiar language allows your participants to accurately complete the questionnaire. They are not hampered by understanding, jargon, technical terms, reading level, age, and/or irrelevant cultural characteristics. The natural and familiar language must be the participants’ natural and familiar language, not the researcher’s. The use of natural and familiar language helps participants stay engaged in completing the questionnaire, reduces ’guessing’ by participants, and lead to useful information.
