The evaluation is conducted by a team of knowledgeable professionals and assesses all areas of a suspected disability. 3. An individualized education program. A document that provides details on the student's present level of education performance, the associated, annual goals, and the special educations services that will enable the student to reach those goals. 4. Education in the least restrictive environment. This means being educated alongside of peers without disabilities to the greatest extent possible. 5. Parent participation. School personnel must work with parents and, when appropriate, the student to develop the IEP. 6. Procedural safeguards. Parents of each student with a disability are guaranteed certain rights. Answers to the seventh choice may vary but must include a reason for the choice.
