Describe how the process of immunization makes a person immune to a disease.

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary. Through immunization we are able to stimulate the body to produce antibodies against disease-producing microorganisms. Antibodies are produced by placing a small amount of dead or weak disease germs into the body, a process called inoculation or vaccination. Because the microorganisms are not at full strength, they do not cause full-blown disease, but they provide enough material to stimulate the body to manufacture the necessary antibodies.
