A, B, D
Feedback
Correct After a chest radiograph is obtained, asymptomatic children with positive
tuberculin tests and no previous history of TB receive daily INH for 9
months. Asymptomatic contacts should receive INH for at least 8 to 10
weeks after contact has been broken or until a negative skin test can be
confirmed (a second test is taken at least 10 weeks after the last exposure).
Reporting cases of TB is required by law in all states in the United States.
Incorrect Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine is the only anti-TB vaccine available,
but it is given only to children who have negative test results. For
asymptomatic TB, only INH is administered, not both isoniazid and
rifampin together. Rifampin is used if the child has resistance to isoniazid.
