Describe the stages of group formation.

What will be an ideal response?

One widely cited model of group development assumes that groups proceed through as many as five stages of development: (1) forming, (2) storming, (3) norming, (4) performing, and (5) adjourning. Although identifying the stage a group is in at a specific time can be difficult, it is nonetheless important to understand the development process. At each stage, group behaviors differ and, consequently, each stage can influence the group's end results.
