Illustrate the challenges associated with reporting from a news conference.

What will be an ideal response?

Although news conferences simplify the reporting process by presenting a single message and allowing questions all at once, several challenges are associated with the format. First, when everyone receives the same information it can be difficult to find a unique angle on the story. Second, the information may not be newsworthy despite the way the event sponsor feels about it. Finally, by controlling the flow of information, news conferences can become snow jobs, or dishonest portrayals of people or events meant to cover up misdeeds.
