What is the pathophysiology of a seizure?

What will be an ideal response?

A seizure is abnormal and an excessive electrical discharge of the neurons in the brain. Seizures
result from the imbalance between excitation and inhibition within the central nervous system
(CNS). This electrical activity can be limited to one specific area or can spread diffusely across brain
tissue. Excessive excitation or excessive inhibition might occur in focal areas of the cerebral cortex
(focal seizure) or over the entire cerebral cortex (generalized seizures).
