Perceptions of others can be influenced by a variety of factors,especially physical appearance. People tend to attribute desirable characteristics such as sociability, friendliness, poise, warmth, and competence to those who are good looking. In contrast, unattractive people are often viewed in a negative light. Both children and adults make very rapid inferecnes based on people's faces, and these inferences have many real world implications.
